Rig tip: VIP pull-through sites offer easiest big rig access, but be cautious at the main entrance due to tight approach.
Multiple reviewers point to significant issues with the bathroom and shower facilities, describing them as small, overcrowded, and in poor condition. High severity complaints also mention having to pay for showers and generally limited facilities, with several reports of lack of handicap accessibility. Some praise the facility's overall cleanliness, but the recurring friction regarding bathrooms and showers is a dominant theme for this signal.
Reviews suggest that family activities and advertised features like the playground, jump pad, and swimming pond are highlights for guests and typically match expectations. However, several complaints point to missing or pay-to-use amenities, such as the absence of a pool and laundry, extra fees for WiFi and showers, and no package or mail delivery for campers. Overall, the positives on recreation are offset by frustration over basic amenity gaps or additional costs.
Guests describe friendly and attentive owners who work hard to ensure campers have a good experience, with many appreciating the welcoming atmosphere. However, there are also high severity complaints indicating negative interactions with owners, especially from weekenders or those outside the seasonal community. While most report a positive experience, the occasional severe friction with staff tempers this signal.

Campers report a generally peaceful and quiet atmosphere, and some reviewers highlight restful stays as a strength. However, a recurring medium severity theme is that many sites are adjacent to a busy highway, impacting the sense of seclusion, and enforcement of quiet hours can be inconsistent. Experiences with noise appear to vary depending on site location and timing.
A pattern of medium severity complaints point to all sites lacking sewer hookups, low water pressure, and occasional water quality issues that make the water non-potable. Guests consistently note the need to use the dump station or pay extra for pump-out service, along with occasional site leveling challenges. While most sites provide electric and water, the limitations are a source of recurring friction for RV owners.
Campers give this property a moderate overall rating across several platforms, resulting in a combined score that reflects an average experience. While there are pockets of enthusiasm for the community vibe and friendliness, reviews highlight both strengths and clear sources of friction that impact loyalty and return rates.

Staff and owner interaction has quietly staged a comeback, with seven recent reviewers in the past year describing a markedly more positive experience than those who visited Badgerland Campground during its mid-period slump. While the 16 reviewers from three years ago painted a much more mixed picture, the latest feedback points to a return of the steady, welcoming presence that shaped earlier years. Cleanliness and amenities have also held their ground, with five mentions in the most recent period and consistently high marks across the five-year span. Value and pricing concerns have faded from discussion, never reaching more than a handful of mentions. If you're booking now, you're catching this place at its best in years, especially for those who value friendly, attentive staff.

The CampRecord is generated through analysis of public guest reviews spanning multiple years. Patterns described reflect themes observed in reviewer feedback over time and should be considered alongside other research when planning a stay.

Before You Arrive

Surfaces are mostly gravel with some grass and paver VIP sites. Pull through and back-in types available. Most sites have 30 or 50 amp electric service. No full hookups.

All sites lack sewer but have water (sometimes not potable) and electric. Site lengths accommodate large rigs, with some sites just long enough for fifth wheels and trucks or motorhomes with towed vehicles.

Others are more spacious, especially VIP pull-throughs. Spacing ranges from nearby to spacious, with many reports of mature trees, partial to full shade, and grassy areas.

Get a VIP pull-through site for extra space and shade. Bring bottled or drinking water, as site water is sometimes posted non-potable or high in nitrates. If you stay for a week, check about a free pump-out service. Avoid sites near the pond/play area if you want quiet—can be noisy with kids. There's an old-school cafe restaurant and several breweries/taprooms nearby in Madison. Order firewood delivery onsite, and be aware of strict speed limit enforcement.

Exceptionally clean, friendly, and family-oriented with standout owners—but lacks some amenities and fees frustrate select guests.
