Rig tip: Expect low-hanging branches on campground roads; choose middle sites for easiest access and most level pads.
Campers frequently mention that the campsites themselves are spacious, well maintained, and clean, contributing to a pleasant camping environment. However, there are a few recurring complaints about the cleanliness and outdated condition of some pit toilets, as well as occasional concerns with the swimming area's water quality due to natural factors. Despite these minor issues, the overall impression is of a well-kept campground. The majority of experiences indicate that the grounds and camp areas are tidy.
Guests describe the campground as equipped with family-friendly playgrounds, beautiful trails, a large swim area, and access to historical sites—all matching the advertised amenities. Some reviews mention crowding and limited parking near popular areas during busy times. The occasional presence of zebra mussels and bacteria in the swim area is noted, but most core amenities deliver as promised. For most campers, amenities are a highlight, especially for families and outdoor enthusiasts.
Campers report a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere, suggesting attentive and responsive staff presence. The campground is described as well managed with a smooth check-in experience for most guests. There is one mention of less thoughtful site assignment leading to noise issues, but this appears to be an exception. Overall, guests feel supported and positive about their interactions with staff.
Reviews indicate that the reservation process generally runs smoothly with guests receiving the sites and services they expect. There is little evidence of systemic booking errors or surprise fees reported. While one group experienced discomfort due to being placed near louder campers, this appears to be an isolated case rather than a booking accuracy failure. Most visitors feel that what they see during booking is what they get upon arrival.
Guests commonly describe the campsites as tranquil and private, with natural surroundings that buffer sounds well for most of the park. Some campers, however, report experiencing noise from neighboring sites, particularly when placed near large, lively groups. This appears to be an occasional issue rather than a dominant theme. Overall, the environment leans toward quiet, with sporadic disruptions depending on site location and neighbors.
Reviews indicate that while electric hookups (30/50 amp) are reliable when available, RV campers should be prepared for limited water and sewer options at individual sites. Campers must fill water tanks at the fill station and use the central dump facility. There are also reports of difficulty reserving electric sites during peak season, plus challenges with tall rigs due to low tree branches. The lack of on-site hookups and these recurring issues create a mixed experience for RV travelers.
With a high combined rating across review platforms, this campground enjoys strong loyalty and overall satisfaction among its guests. Many campers note the welcoming, family-friendly environment and the likelihood of repeat visits. The community's positive outlook is a consistent feature of the feedback. Most visitors feel part of a vibrant yet relaxed camping culture.

Before You Arrive

Site surface is predominantly gravel with some dirt in select sites. Most sites are back-in, with long enough pads for RV and tow vehicle or toad. Electric sites (up to 50 AMP) are available, but there are no water or sewer hookups at sites (water at dump station). Sites are spacious, well shaded, and mostly level, although a few are described as sloped or with driveways angled awkwardly. There are both electric and non-electric areas. Dump station is present.
