Rig tip: Big rig owners should request an open, upper section site—wooded loops reported as tight and difficult for large rigs.
Reviews reflect a balance between strengths and friction on cleanliness. Guests describe clean cabins and well-kept, tidy grounds, which are appreciated by many. However, several campers mention concerns about reliance on port-a-potties, only one main bathhouse, and the inconvenience of quarter-operated showers, especially due to limited places to get change. These factors create a noticeable contrast in the experience depending on site location and facilities used.
Campers report mixed experiences with amenities at the park. While some features like the playground and jump pad are highlighted positively, others, including the pool and mini golf, have drawn recurring complaints for closures or poor maintenance. Additionally, multiple guests have noted feeling the price is high for what is offered, especially given extra fees for amenities that are usually included elsewhere. These mixed reviews temper the overall amenity experience.
A consistent and serious pattern of High severity guest complaints about staff quality dominates reviews. Multiple independent reports describe rude or dismissive behavior from the owner, including unprofessional conduct and conflicts with employees witnessed by guests. Although some guests mention accommodating staff, these positive notes are outweighed by recent, repeated negative experiences emphasizing disrespect and discomfort.
Friction patterns arise regarding site and booking accuracy, with several guests experiencing issues like double-booking and receiving a different site than reserved. In some cases, problems were not resolved in favor of arriving campers, causing separation for groups traveling together. While these issues are not universal, they appear across independent reviews and affect confidence in booking reliability.
Reviews suggest the overall environment is a positive aspect, with many campers describing peaceful surroundings, abundant wildlife, and tranquil sunsets. The absence of complaints about excessive noise or disruptive neighbors supports the impression of a restful atmosphere. Minor activity from themed weekends is present, but overall patterns favor a quiet campground.
Friction patterns emerge around hookup reliability, particularly regarding the lack of sewer connections at individual sites. Campers consistently note the reliance on an awkward and fee-based dump station, with no dedicated flush hose. Water pressure and electric service are generally reliable, but the repeated sewer complaints significantly affect the overall hookup experience.
Lakeview RV Park and Cabins currently holds a low combined review score from guests across all major platforms. Community sentiment trends negative overall, reflecting recent friction patterns related to staff interactions, booking issues, and amenity upkeep.

The volatility label hides a real recovery story: site quality and maintenance have bounced back after a rocky stretch, with 6 of the 42 most recent reviewers at Lakeview RV Park and Cabins highlighting improved upkeep and amenities. Just a year ago, feedback on this theme hit its lowest point, but the latest reviews point to a visible turnaround. Yet, not all is smooth—staff and owner interaction remains the single most documented friction point, with 14 mentions in the past year and sentiment still running mixed. Amenities, on the other hand, have quietly been a bright spot, earning consistently positive notes from 7 recent guests. If you’re booking now, you’re catching the park as it climbs out of its rough patch, but it’s smart to check recent reviews for staff experience specifics.

The CampRecord is generated through analysis of public guest reviews spanning multiple years. Patterns described reflect themes observed in reviewer feedback over time and should be considered alongside other research when planning a stay.

Before You Arrive

Site surfaces are mainly gravel with some grass in the upper/larger open areas. Sites are a mix of back-in and pull-through, with pull-throughs found mostly in the open upper section. Most sites offer 30/50 amp electrical and water, but no sewer connection at the site (dump station with a $15 fee after initial use). Site length varies from just enough for a single RV to ample space for a motorhome plus towed vehicle.

Sites in newer/open sections are especially spacious and suited for larger rigs, while older/wooded areas are tighter for big RVs. Spacing is generally described as spacious to very spacious, with certain older/wooded sites described as nearby to very close.

If you want shade, request a site in the wooded area, but these are tighter and best for smaller rigs. Large, open sites have little to no shade but are very long. Check if the pool or bounce pad is open during your stay. Bring quarters for showers. Consider using the dump station only at departure to avoid extra fees. Download the free campground app for info. Try the Friday fish fry, BBQ and local bakery in Chilton. EAA Museum is ~40 minutes away. Some campers recommend avoiding the bar if you prefer not to deal with service issues.

Big rig owners should request an open, upper section site—wooded loops reported as tight and difficult for large rigs.

Beautiful, fun-filled campground with great amenities but critically damaged by recurring owner rudeness and inconsistent customer service.
