A 5-year view of camper sentiment
What's driving the trend: Atmosphere & crowd
Based on Google Reviews · May 2021 - May 2026 · 166 reviews
Atmosphere and crowd feedback once anchored the experience here, with 27 reviewers over four years describing a reliably positive vibe at River's Edge Campground. But in the most recent year, that theme faded from discussion entirely, while overall sentiment softened and guest focus shifted. Instead, recent reviews have highlighted mixed experiences with staff and owner interaction, a theme that has drawn 26 mentions since 2021 but remains inconsistent, with both praise and friction surfacing in the latest feedback. Amenities continue to earn strong marks, though the sense of community and quiet that defined earlier years is now less certain. What you read in recent reviews is what you'll get—especially when it comes to staff interaction and the current atmosphere on the grounds.
The CampRecord is generated through analysis of public guest reviews spanning multiple years. Patterns described reflect themes observed in reviewer feedback over time and should be considered alongside other research when planning a stay.

Gravel or dirt surface, both pull-through and back-in types, 50/30/15 amp electric, water and sewer available at most sites, some full hookup, site length varies (some just long enough for 30–45 ft rigs, others more spacious), some sites level, spacing from very close to spacious, one site noted as too small for 30ft trailer, seasonal and riverfront sites all occupied by permanent residents.
Disconnect your tow in the restaurant parking lot to avoid getting lost or stuck. Many one-way streets in the park. Bring quarters for the pay showers and be prepared for subpar restroom facilities. Beware weekend crowding from non-camper day pass visitors at the pond. Good home base for visiting Wausau or Stevens Point.
Navigation is tight for motorhomes over 35 feet; disconnect tow in restaurant lot and verify site length before arrival.
