Rig tip: Prioritize back-in sites — they're longer and more spacious than the pull-throughs for big rigs.
Campers report mixed experiences with cleanliness. While some describe the bathrooms as clean and functional, others note issues with the bathhouse and laundry amenities, including out-of-order machines and difficulties accessing showers due to change machine problems. These inconsistencies contribute to a moderate cleanliness score.
Reviews suggest the campground offers a strong range of amenities, including a pool, mini golf, shuffleboard, an on-site store, and river tubing. Many guests appreciate that several activities are included with camp fees and highlight the beautiful river views. However, some note that showers are pay-only and laundry facilities can be unreliable, which slightly tempers the otherwise positive feedback.
Guests describe inconsistent service from staff, particularly in the restaurant and bar, where some report feeling ignored or experiencing poor service. While a few reviewers mention helpful and pleasant staff elsewhere in the campground, the recurring complaints about slow or inattentive service lower the overall staff score.
Some guests recommend booking ahead, especially during busy periods, due to the popularity of certain sites and activities. There are also mentions of site assignment concerns and the need to plan for desirable locations. However, limited review data on the specific booking process or reservation policies — score reflects overall sentiment patterns.
Many campers report significant noise issues, especially on busy weekends. Reviews mention a lack of rule enforcement at night, with loud parties and inconsiderate behavior disturbing families until late hours. The crowded layout and proximity of sites further contribute to a generally noisy environment.
Campers highlight the availability of full hookups, wide and level RV sites with cement patios, and picnic tables as positives. Some reviews mention variable water pressure and tight pull-through sites, but overall, the hookups are considered reliable and convenient for most guests.
Reviews suggest a lively, family-friendly atmosphere with returning visitors and group gatherings, especially during events like the 4th of July fireworks. Campers mention a mix of friendly people and a kid-friendly environment, though the crowded conditions and party atmosphere on weekends may not appeal to everyone.

Amenities are the single most debated feature here, with 151 reviewers over five years split between praise for the range of facilities and disappointment when expectations weren’t met. At Wisconsin Riverside Resort, Inc., satisfaction with amenities dipped notably in year three but rebounded in the most recent year, with 22 reviewers now sounding a more positive note. Yet the volatility isn’t just about amenities: staff and owner interactions also see-saw, with 66 reviews showing a mix of warm welcomes and less satisfying encounters, and site maintenance feedback swinging from high marks to more critical takes. If you’re considering a stay, the experience you get may depend as much on timing as on your priorities—reading recent reviews about the amenities and service will help you decide if this is your kind of campground.

The CampRecord is generated through analysis of public guest reviews spanning multiple years. Patterns described reflect themes observed in reviewer feedback over time and should be considered alongside other research when planning a stay.

Before You Arrive

Site surfaces include gravel, grass, sand, and dirt. Site types are both back-in and pull-through.

Pull-throughs are limited in number. Amperage is mostly 30/50, some 20/30/50. Full hookups (water, sewer, electric) across most sites. Spacing ranges from spacious in many back-in sites to somewhat tight in some pull-throughs.

Some sections have little shade and others are mostly shaded.

Back-in sites are much larger than pull-throughs if you want extra room. Visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin estate and House on the Rock, both just minutes away. The on-site Reunion restaurant comes highly recommended. For groceries, head to Spring Green or Walmart in Baraboo/Richland Center. Kayak, tube, or canoe rentals are available, with scenic paddles downriver to the campground.

A popular riverfront campground and resort with beautiful views, excellent amenities, decent food, and standout activities—but struggles with inconsistent service, crowded campsites, and some facility hiccups.
