About TrustedCamp Limited Data

This campground has under 30 combined reviews across our tracked platforms, and the available data doesn't yet support a confident positive evaluation. What that means: We can see the patterns in the existing reviews, but with fewer reviews to draw from, the picture isn't yet clear enough to classify this as a recommended property. Why it's listed anyway: Transparency. Every Wisconsin campground we analyze gets a place on TrustedCamp, with honest context about the data we have. Some Limited Data properties will earn On Our Radar or Verified status as more reviews accumulate.

Best For
Campers seeking a clean, community-focused riverside experience with easy walkability to town and friendly regulars.
Avoid If
You expect extensive onsite amenities or quiet seclusion—reviews document limited facilities and recurring noise from highway traffic.
Guests describe the bathhouse and showers as impeccable, with a consistent theme of clean facilities echoing through the feedback. The overall grounds appear well maintained, and campers rarely mention cleanliness concerns. There are some frustrations with the token system for showers, but this relates more to convenience than facility cleanliness.
Campers express frustration over the limited amenities, with multiple reviews highlighting the absence of basics such as a gift shop, pavilion, club house, or family games. Some also note that the boat launch is 'horrendous and unusable,' and there is no on-site dining or pool. The lack of advertised amenities and absence of organized activities have created disappointment among several guests.
Reviews suggest a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, especially among seasonal guests and long-term members. Staff and regular campers are frequently described as warm, which helps create a positive communal vibe. There have been some minor mentions of difficulty accessing a manager during off hours, but overall, campers report a positive impression of the staff.
Campers note that the booking process mostly matches expectations, though some have encountered online reservation fees and slow communication at end of season. A few guests were surprised by the close spacing of sites compared to their expectations. While most campers receive what they book, these recurring issues signal some room for improvement in the accuracy and clarity of the booking process.
Noise from nearby Highway 12 emerges as a recurring concern, with reviewers describing it as 'awful' and disruptive for those seeking a peaceful stay. While the campground community feels friendly, the intrusive road noise is a notable source of friction for guests. Campers sensitive to sound may want to prepare accordingly or request a site further from the highway.
Most guests find the full hookup sites sufficient, but several reviewers note electrical issues, particularly with the 50 amp service causing breaker trips. Some larger rigs have difficulty with site access due to tight turns or tree placement. While water, sewer, and electric service generally meets expectations, prospective visitors with high power needs should take precautions.
The campground’s overall community rating falls in the moderate range based on aggregated review data. This reflects a mix of positive experiences, especially in terms of friendliness and return visits, offset by frequent complaints about amenities and noise. Campers looking for a social environment with regular events may appreciate the community here, though the limited amenities and site layout may impact the experience for some.

Scores reflect documented patterns across guest reviews, built from consistent evidence rather than individual opinions. They're meant to aid comparison, not to certify or rate operator performance.

Atmosphere and crowd feedback has anchored a steady experience here, with every year since 2021 turning up similar notes in the reviews. At Buddy's River Resort, 11 guests have weighed in on the vibe and guest mix, and while the most recent eight reviewers echo the familiar themes, there's a subtle softening compared to the park’s peak year, especially around the sense of quiet and environment. Other themes—like site maintenance and amenities—appear only sporadically, with no sustained pattern of concern or praise. For campers considering a stay, what you read in recent reviews is what you’ll get: a consistent, if slightly mellowed, atmosphere that has defined the park’s reputation over time.

The CampRecord is generated through analysis of public guest reviews spanning multiple years. Patterns described reflect themes observed in reviewer feedback over time and should be considered alongside other research when planning a stay.

Before You Arrive

Site surface is primarily grass. Sites are a mix of back-in, pull-through, and other.

Amperage includes 30 and 50 amp with some reported issues (tripped breaker on 50 amp). Full hookups (water, sewer, electric) are available. Sites are generally long enough for motorhome plus towed vehicle, with spacing described as 'nearby' or 'spacious.'.

Visit Wollersheim winery, Dauf Haus supper club, or take the river walk. Vintage Brewing good for beer but food is mediocre—reserve ahead. Watch the first speed bump upon entering, it's rough. Multiple restaurants and stores are within walking distance across the bridge.

Long rigs should request open pull-throughs and communicate length; tight turns and trees require careful navigation at some site entries.
