About TrustedCamp Limited Data

This campground has under 30 combined reviews across our tracked platforms, and the available data doesn't yet support a confident positive evaluation. What that means: We can see the patterns in the existing reviews, but with fewer reviews to draw from, the picture isn't yet clear enough to classify this as a recommended property. Why it's listed anyway: Transparency. Every Wisconsin campground we analyze gets a place on TrustedCamp, with honest context about the data we have. Some Limited Data properties will earn On Our Radar or Verified status as more reviews accumulate.

Best For
Families and lake lovers who value clean water, sandy beaches, and access to outdoor activities.
Avoid If
You are sensitive to odors or expect privacy—recurring sewage smell and tightly spaced sites are documented patterns.
Reviews suggest cleanliness is a standout feature, with guests highlighting very clean and spacious sites as well as clean bathroom facilities and free showers. The lake and beach areas also receive positive notes for their pristine condition. There are a few minor complaints, such as some guests finding the shower water too hot, and certain transient RV sites near the dump station can experience sewage odors and visible holes left after tree removal. However, the overall sentiment leans strongly toward consistently clean communal areas and facilities.
Campers frequently mention enjoying the onsite beach, free hot showers, and easy access to biking and canoeing amenities that match what is advertised. The lake’s condition and sandy swimming areas are highlighted positively in multiple reviews. Reviewers do not report significant unmet expectations regarding promised amenities, and the consistency of delivery earns high marks here.
Friction with staff stands out as a pattern, particularly among RV guests, who report unhelpful and sometimes rude behavior from owners and management. Multiple reviews describe situations where assistance was lacking during issues such as campsite flooding, and some cite disrespectful attitudes from both management and security personnel. These recurring issues overshadow occasional positive check-in experiences.
There are mixed experiences with site and booking accuracy at this campground. Some RV guests report being placed in unattractive or crowded locations, such as sites behind sheds or adjacent to the dump station, which contrasts with expectations set by the general site descriptions. However, most reviews do not document issues with reservation errors or hidden fees, and some visitors find spacious and well-described sites that match their booking.
Noise from RV generators at night is a repeatedly documented pain point for campers, with multiple reviews describing the environment as disrupted and peacefulness severely impacted. The lack of quiet hours enforcement and persistent generator operation at all hours is noted as a significant detraction, consistently reported as a major issue in recent feedback.
RV guests report several challenges with hookup reliability, especially limited sewer connections and reliance on the dump station which sometimes causes unpleasant odors. Some sites suffer from uneven surfaces and holes left from tree removal, presenting risks of tripping or difficulty setting up rigs. On the positive side, most sites provide basic electric and water hookups, and guests state that site length generally accommodates RVs with tow vehicles.
The overall community rating for Crystal Lake Campground is very strong, with aggregated online feedback averaging 9.1. This suggests a high level of satisfaction among campers across review platforms. Positive experiences with the lake, amenities, and family-friendly atmosphere are contributing factors.

Before You Arrive

Site surface is gravel. Site types include pull-through. Sites are reportedly long enough for travel trailer and tow vehicle, with tow vehicle parking available. Power and water connections are available at some sites but sewer hookups are not—dump station provided. Sites are sunny/open with 'nearby' neighbors and some sites described as extremely close together and adjacent to dump station. Some sites have holes left from removed trees.

Request a site away from the sewage pond and dump station if possible. If you're assigned a site behind the shed or near construction equipment, ask to be moved. The swimming pool is consistently cited as the only amenity worth using. Bring a flashlight at night—some sites have unfilled holes from tree removal. Expect outhouses for transient/overnight RV spots and limited privacy between sites.

Pull-through gravel sites are available but some are close together and may border the dump station.

A beloved, scenic, and family-friendly lake campground with a few big pain points for RV owners and quiet-seekers.
