You want flexible rule enforcement or spacious private sites — policies are strict and sites pack closely together.
Campers report mixed experiences with cleanliness at Lake Lenwood Beach & Campground. Several reviews mention issues with trash management, including scattered barrels and unpleasant odors, as well as dirty bathrooms and showers. Flooding and muddy conditions after rain also contribute to a less pleasant environment for some guests. While a few visitors praise clean campsites and picnic areas, concerns about overall facility upkeep are common.
Reviews suggest that the campground offers a strong range of amenities, especially for families. Guests appreciate the beautiful private beach, playground, and lakeside picnic areas. Many mention that there are plenty of activities for kids and that the grounds are generally well-kept. However, some feel that the value could be better given the crowded site spacing and occasional drainage issues.
Feedback about staff is mixed. Some guests describe the owners and hosts as friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, there are also reports of unprofessional behavior, including staff yelling at delivery drivers and inconsistent enforcement of strict rules. This leads to a varied experience depending on the situation.
Reviews indicate a balanced experience with booking. Some guests find the reservation process straightforward, but others express frustration with strict and sometimes unpopular visitation rules, as well as unclear site assignments and policies. Communication about booking policies can be inconsistent, leading to confusion for some campers.
Noise levels are a recurring concern for guests. While some visitors enjoy a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, others report issues with rowdy, unsupervised children and management driving 4-wheelers around the property. The close proximity of campsites and lack of privacy can also contribute to a less tranquil experience for some.
Campers report several issues with hookups at this campground. Complaints include unsafe electrical hookups, uneven and haphazard site layouts, and some sites being too short for larger rigs. Drainage problems can also affect the usability of hookups during heavy rain. Positive mentions are limited in this area.
Reviews suggest a strong sense of community, especially among returning visitors and families. Many guests describe a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and note that the campground feels peaceful and inclusive. The active family programming and social vibe are highlights for those seeking a communal camping experience.

The reviews at Lake Lenwood Beach & Campground reveal a sharp divide, and it all comes down to staff and owner interaction. Of the 41 campers who raised this theme over the past five years, the middle stretch—especially years two through four—was marked by a string of negative experiences, with 22 reviewers describing inconsistent or unsatisfying encounters. Yet the most recent year stands out for a dramatic reversal: 10 recent reviewers describe a notably friendlier and more welcoming atmosphere, pushing sentiment sharply upward from the prior lows. Other themes like amenities and atmosphere have held steady, with 13 and 32 mentions respectively, but it's the staff experience that defines which side of the fence you'll land on. Read the newest reviews about staff and owner interaction before booking to see which version of the story is now holding true.

The CampRecord is generated through analysis of public guest reviews spanning multiple years. Patterns described reflect themes observed in reviewer feedback over time and should be considered alongside other research when planning a stay.

Rig tip: All back-in sites with gravel, grass, or dirt — request longer sites if over 33 feet.

Before You Arrive

All sites are back-in with a mix of gravel, grass, and dirt surfaces. Amperage offered includes 30 amp and 50 amp service at select sites. Sites are typically described as 'just long enough' for various rigs, with some long enough for both RV and towed vehicle, but several reviewers note tight fits for larger rigs. Most sites have full hookups (water, sewer, and electric), sometimes with shared water. Spacing varies.

Many mention sites are very close, while some lakefront or grass areas are described as spacious.

West Bend and Germantown offer good food and shopping nearby. Wallers restaurant on Lake Wallace is recommended and only half a mile away. There is a well-regarded dog park about a mile from the campground, but parks in town are not pet friendly. If you need to stay connected, park Wi-Fi is throttled and cell coverage can be weak. There is a supper club within walking distance. The Miller tour in the area is also worth the drive.

All back-in sites with gravel, grass, or dirt — request longer sites if over 33 feet.
